I found my passion for running in 2019 when I was stationed in Great Lakes, IL. Being a Marine on Active Duty, I had to run often and stay in shape and I had just moved to the area where I was introduced to TeamRWB, a Non-Profit organization whose mission is to “enrich the lives of America’s veterans.” Being apart of TeamRWB allowed me to network within the local veteran and running community in Lake County IL and the Southern portion of WI. This community became family where we ran together and supported each other. I found a locally owned business owner in Kenosha, WI who is a cross country coach. This running community brought out my passion for running, especially, Brain Thomas, the Kenosha Running Company business owner. Before meeting them, I thought running was running but I truly didn’t understand what running was. Being a runner is so much more than getting steps in or putting one foot in front of the other. The community helped me learn the importance of stride, cadence, running shoes, injury prevention, long runs, and so much more that I had no idea about. I am proud to be a runner and would love to be accepted as an Ambassador for the Run Show and will be in it for the long run if accepted. Pun intended. I am still an Active Duty Marine. I am now a Marine Corps Recruiter in the Los Angeles area.
