1–2 Mar 2025 100 days to go! #BostonRunShow Tickets

Hiromi Nobata

I am a lifelong runner – running for 45+ years (I’m 57 years old). I live my love and passion for running everyday and was finally able to get my RRCA coaching accreditation recently (thanks to all the courses going online) and am now coaching a group of runners for the 2022 New York City Marathon (also Berlin, London and Chicago). As an experienced marathoner (17 so far), it’s been wonderful to be able to share my experiences (good and bad) with my fellow runners and help them meet their goals and achievements. I continue my running education and really look forward to making connections with other avid runners and coaches to share knowledge, experience and our overall love of running if I’m chosen as an ambassador.

While I’m not the fastest runner, I’m very proud to have been able to run fast enough for my AG to qualify for and run Boston in 2008, 2018, 2019, 2020 (virtual), 2021, 2022 and (assuming my cushion is enough) 2023. I have also time qualified for the NYRR marquee races – NYC Half, BKLYN Half and NYC Marathon (local competitive corral) the last 7 years. I tell all my runners – fast or slow, young or old – running is for everyone and anyone! Work hard, never give up – running always pays off. I never would have thought I’d be running better at 50 than I was at 30 but I’m living proof that a 55+ year old woman with RA can PR on the hilly Boston course.
