The ultimate ‘runners’ high’ this weekend at the Hynes, Boston

Over 15,000 runners expected at The Boston Run Show 2024

This weekend, the Hynes Convention Center in Boston will welcome over 15,000 runners as the running event of the year, The Boston Run Show, kicks off with its biggest and best event yet. This annual celebration of running, now in its second year, promises an inspiring and immersive experience for runners of all abilities, featuring a multitude of exciting new features, world-class speakers, over 100 brands, expert advice, and community initiatives.

The event is the perfect place to stave off that mid-January slump and to add a huge adrenaline shot to those New Years’ resolutions. A home for those who are just starting their running journey through to those who frequent the trails on multi-day ultras, The Boston Run Show will help inspire a year of incredible running adventures with the help of some of most experienced and well-known runners in the UK including Olympian and running legend Michael Johnson, Barkley ultramarathoner John Kelly, American run streak hero Hellah Sidibe, Podcast founder and coach Kelly Roberts, Boston Marathon Director Dave McGillivray and dozens more.

With over 100 brands on site, runners can get all of the gear, tech, nutrition and hydration products they need at the expo not to mention advice from brand professionals and bespoke advice about what products are right for them. Runners can shop brands including adidas, Altra, Asics, New Balance, Hoka and more.

A great day out for all the family, there is enough to do to spend two days immersed in the world of running. This year sees the return of some favourite features and a host of new activities including:

The New England Trail Running Zone: Featuring esteemed guest speakers and hosted by Trail Animals Running Club, this zone is a treasure trove of insights for trail running enthusiasts.

Strength & Conditioning Zone: This revamped feature includes yoga for runners by Adina Crawford, run clinic sessions by Danny Dreyer and ChiRunning plus workshops and sessions for mobility by Michael Silva

Treadmill Try Outs: Matrix Fitness bring a new feature to the expo where runners can hop on different treadmills and find which product suits their lifestyle best.

Gait Analysis with Aetrex: If runners are looking for a new pair of running shoes, gait analysis is recommended! The analysis informs you of what type of shoe and support you need to suit your running style to allow for comfort and prevent injury.

The Treatment Room: A dedicated area to discuss ailments, niggles and help to solve or prevent injuries with some treatments.

The Run Clinic by ChiRunning:  The New England team of Certified ChiRunning Instructors will guide runners through exercises and drills designed to leave them with a clear sense of what the ChiRunning technique feels like in your body.

The BAA Locker Room: The BAA are the expo’s major partner and this year, they’re creating a brand-new area called The Locker Room booth where visitors can find the Boston Marathon Trophy, giveaways, a goal setting wall and a space to meet Team B.A.A. and their community partners!

Ice Baths with The Cold Plunge Guys: Bring your swimwear along to dip into an ice bath and experience the benefits of cold-water therapy for energy and recovery!

Do your bit: Donate pre-loved running shoes and to support charitable initiative Soles4Souls, turning running shoes into opportunity.

Craig Hanratty, Event Director of The Boston Run Show, expresses his enthusiasm, stating, “The Boston Run Show is more than an event; it’s a community of like-minded individuals coming together to celebrate the spirit of running. We’re thrilled to welcome runners of all abilities to our event, creating an inclusive space for inspiration, education, and camaraderie. With an expected attendance of over 15,000 runners over the two days, the Hynes Convention Center will be buzzing with the shared passion for running.
