Amy Tkaczyk

I am from the beautiful state of New Hampshire, and have spent the last 20 years working in a local elementary school as an OT Provider, with an emphasis on the importance of movement for brain development in students. During this time my husband and I have spent 20+ years coaching youth running on the magnificent trails that surround us here. My husband and I have brought our two boys (now 18 & 16) up surrounded by our amazing running community, and both are having successful running careers in college and high school.

Personally, running is of vital importance to my daily routine. I was diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease in 2010, and have found that along with medical treatment, running keeps me balanced and feeling good. Last January my youngest son Tyler (16) was also diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease. He, too, is an avid runner, and before his diagnosis he struggled with his own running, which led us to the discovery of his diagnosis. He has shown the most amazing perseverance through it all- now that he has had treatment for the last 10+ months his running has dramatically improved, along with his self-confidence. Both Tyler and I have recently become involved with the ImproveCareNow Network, and want to reach out to other children and their families affected by this disease and teach/demonstrate the importance of running and its impact on health and well-being.

I am excited to be involved as an Ambassador to The Run Show!
