Christine M. Goldman is 55 with 2 grown children. She has had a genetic form of diabetes since age 13, and took insulin shots for 17 years, but no longer needs them, or any diabetes medication, with marathon training and a vegan diet.
She has run 15 Boston Marathons (and qualified for 17) and numerous others (Chicago, New York City, Berlin, etc). She has done 28 marathons total to date
After experiencing the events at the 2013 Boston Marathon, Christine volunteered to run 10 Marathons for the Martin Richard Foundation on Team MR8, raising $60,000 and counting…
After doing years of training on her own, Christine joined the B.A.A. Running Club out of a desire to be amongst like-minded fellow runners who are passionate about running, training and racing. She wanted to belong to this community and support the B.A.A.’s commitment to healthy, active lifestyles for all through running.
Christine most recently taught chemistry at Boston College for 20 years.
