My name is Yuma Haidara I am a Commercial truck driver, combat veteran, and small business owner. I found a love for running while I was cross country trucking and found myself packing on the pounds. It was the only guarantee that I’d get a workout if I went for a run. It gave me so much more energy to make it through my 14 hour days. I started signing up for smaller races and 4 marathons later here I am. I try to share my story of how I got into running, that I don’t have to ‘look’ like a runner, and how it has genuinely helped me through my mental health journey. I want to represent runners that look like me. Let them know it’s possible for them too!
